The peach ordeal .
i picked over 200 lbs of Peaches. Mostly
Alberta's, Indian Reds Treskas? guess i better call Ms Yingst and find out what
that peach was. They were sooooooo very good. i froze a lot and here's what i
did with a bunch
...even pickled a batch!

June 9 - 13, 2005
Southwest Arkansas is a really green place. The Reunion was also a chance to
trace an obscure yet poignant Series of Civil War battles ::: it was the search
for the battlefield of Prairie 'D Anne. Prairie 'D Ane, a river, a town long
ago, a place sorta known; ... April 1864, General Steel's retreat from Camden,
Arkansas, a month after the battle at Jenkins Ferry, during the Red River
Campaign, to secure the Texas Cotton Industry and Threaten the French Colonists
now occupying Mexico ...i never really found Prairie 'D
Ane but from the descriptions in the hand book it happened somewhere around here
... Beautiful country of rolling hills, with a massive lace of GREEN beneath
blue sky with puffy white clouds.
Good time bird watching too. Saw a couple of of these Scissor Tailed
Flycatchers, a Cardinal, Summer Tanager but like Prairie 'D Ane no Ivory
Billed Woodpecker.
i highly recommend vacationing in the Hot Springs, Arkansas area.

Well that kinda covers the late 40's --- now for some Down on the Farm in Carnegie, Oklahoma... homestead of my Grandparents ... Baba and & Dado. My Grandfather was a deserter from the Turkish-Bulgar War(s) aka the Crimean War... Came to America by way of Detroit and finally in Oklahoma...
