this completes another section in the pie of an artists life.

This following set of drawings are done in the haunts and sundry places

ensconced in some neutral corner ...a voyeur in the process:)

What a great place to draw .....The Biltmore at Montesito eventually served for a large soft pastel

"LEMONS"  At the Broadway Bar & Grill ...3rd Street Promenade

Santa Monica,  Drawing for a Soft Pastel now in the Pastel Room. Drawing along the Promenade had

its moments; i would never go there without my drawing book :)

This Drawing turned out to be a charcoal 28"x 32"

another in the Four Seasons series.                             "Easter Buffet Four Seasons"

"Easter Buffet" can be seen in the Pastel Room as a charcoal

Besides the Oil Pastels one has

many "warm ups" to do before getting

to the Oil, this is a warm up at  Life Drawing Marathon

El Camino College

Torrance, CA ...Drawing Marathons: 1st Sunday every month but history now thanks to the power debacle in CA. However i have built my own studio and the model comes to my studio ... oh this is sooo good.

  • The next several drawings are all, as usual, done on location and all have become paintings or pastels. i tried to put the name of the location where i was drawing in the title and this title for the drawing may not coincide with the painting . This grouping has a recurrent theme: "CHAIRS" are in evidence somehow somewhere. i enjoy the drawing of everyday life and working from these drawings; and eventually somehow on the canvass it takes on a life of it's own as i work through all the hurdles that come up for me.

  • Most of the people in these drawings didn't know they were "subjects" though some found out later.    It is a lot of fun to go out drawing in certain places.
